Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, 6:00pm
You're invited to a special gathering of worship where we will here the Christmas story, sing the Christmas songs, and receive the Christmas message of hope and calling. We will take up an offering that will be used to support the ministires of the church and the ministrires of The Grainery community food pantry.
Christmas Eve Morning Worship, 11:00am across the street at Disciples of Christ Church
On the morning of Christmas Eve we will gathering with our friends at the Disciples of Christ Church, located directly across the street at the corner of 4th and D streets, to worship at 11:00am that Sunday.
Note: there will not be regular Sunday morning worship at 10:30am or everning worship at 6:30pm on December 24th. That day we will be worshipping as described above.
Blue Christmas Worship, December 21st, 7:00pm; at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension next door
You're invited to a special worship service where we will name and hold space for all the emotions and experiences that the holiday season holds. While we say it is a season of giving and cheer, we know that for many of us the holidays can be a rough time with anxiety, regret, depression, and darkness. As this special worship service, we will name those things and hold them in the presence of God's unending grace.
This service will be held in the sanctuary of the Episcopal Church of the Ascention, located at the corner of 4th and E streets (enter from E street), with a time of fellowship and snacks to be held after worship.
Caroling around the community, December 17th, 1:45pm; meet at the church
You're invited to a fun afternoon of singing Christmas carols around Salida! Meet that the church at 1:45pm, and from there we will head out to sing at the hospital, other community locations, and at individual homes. After we've sung our songs, we will gather at a home for a Christmas celebration with chili!
Advent Bible Study
This Advent season, you are invited to prepare yourself by engaging in an intentional reading of the Gospel of Luke. Starting December 1st, read one chapter of Luke each day (there are 24 chapters). And when Christmas Day arrives, you will have a better understanding of who is showing up and why His entering into the world matters.
As you read the story, you are encouraged to ask questions.
